In the city it runs at 200-210F but goes up to 225-230F at traffic lights. After a few minutes of 200-220F freeway driving when getting off and joining city traffic it goes over 240F.

I could not figure why. Check fluid level and it was a little low. Filled and O.K. but after a couple of weeks it would run hot again. Fluid a little low. No leaks to be seen under car.

You could also by pass the temperature switch and wire it hot to a manual switch. That way you could turn it on and off at your leisure.
