WebDec 22, 2024 · Pry back the locking tabs of the lock-nut retainer with a flat screwdriver. Remove the propeller nut using a prop wrench or deep well socket and a floating prop block (or a wood block) to keep the prop from spinning. Remove the propeller and all hub components, including the thrust washer. WebMercury recommends a minimum of 55 foot pounds of torque. OMC (and I presume Bombardier) recommends 70 foot ponds of toque on the prop nut of their large outboard motors. WebApr 19, 2011 · If you are running a mercruiser or mercury you need a solas thrust washer (part # metw). It is slightly thinner than others and will allow the prop nut to go correctly.
